The Board of Directors of the Jamaica Association of Young Professionals represents a team of young experienced and qualified leaders from a wide cross-section of professions in the private and public sectors.The organization, formed in 2007, has a general membership of over 500 young professionals from various professions including law, medicine, journalism, entrepreneurship, inter alia. It is the fastest growing and most prolific young professional organization in Jamaica and indeed the Caribbean. The Association believes in the holistic development of young professionals in Jamaica and in the Diaspora.


JAYP Objectives and Corporate Goals

The mission of the JAYP is to be socially oriented, business focused and outreach driven. Over the next five years the JAYP will:

  • Expand our professional development programmes through our Leadership Institute;

 

  • Increase our contribution to policy development at the national level as a part of nation building;
  • Expand our corporate membership base to include all companies that employ young professionals;

 

  • Form partnerships with companies which seek to provide affordable housing for young professionals;
  • Expand our outreach from  protect our children campaign to rescue our youth mentorship programme;

 

  • Expand our membership base though our lymes/mixers, brunch club and other social networking programmes.

The Jamaica Association of Young Professionals is an affiliate of the International Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations, as well as a member of the young professional commons which has a membership of over 300 young professional organizations worldwide.
